Flying South

This is Homecoming week in the Ballard school system. The girls are excited for a fun week.

Abby had a slumber party on Friday night for her birthday. She had 5 friends over. They pulled their first all nighter.

Deep Shit

Angie and I just finished watching the debate. They're both politicians at heart and there's no way around it. Neither one of them seem to care about real issues, they just want votes. We're screwed either way, but a vote for Obama is a vote for Socialism. You know, Karl Marx, communism. Google it. Look at his policies and tell me I'm wrong. You can't.

How about the Washington Mutual failure? The biggest bank failure EVER in the history of the US just went down yesterday. Who gives a shit, let's debate. Americans want to keep on pretending their problems don't exist. WHAT THE HELL?

On a lighter note...

I got up this morning about 5am and went for a run. It was beautiful. Living away from the city definitely has it's perks. There were so many stars, the crescent moon, settling fog, and QUIET. I felt like I was in a different world.

During my run it was dark. At the highway intersection, the streetlight was cutting through the fog from above. It looked to me like what heaven's light might look like coming down and calling for us. I envisioned a naked body standing under it, arms outstretched, looking up into it. I'd like to make that photo someday. If you want to volunteer, let me know. ;-)

Congratulations to my brother in law George for running 20 miles for the first time today. G is training for the Des Moines Marathon and is a stud. Good luck George.

I took my nephew's senior photos on Sunday. It was a very fun day. Brandon is a cool guy.

Happy Birthday to my daughter Abby who turns 12 tomorrow, and my wife who will be 29 on Tuesday.

Transition

We've been having lots of fall weather lately. The beans are starting to turn gold, the corn is turning brown, football is in full swing (Go Hawks!). Fall is everyone's favorite season, isn't it? The only thing I don't like about fall is when it ends.

On Tuesday, I have to go to Vegas for work again. I'll be back on Saturday.

Biker

Earlier this summer I took Madeline's training wheels off and tried to teach her to ride without them. She couldn't get the hang of it. I put them back on, but raised them up as high as I could so she'd get the balance thing figured out.

A couple of days ago, she told Angie that she was ready to take them off. Angie did, and Madeline rode away like she was a pro. She's been riding her bike up and down the street all week. She's fallen a couple of times, taking out another baby tooth, and skinning up her knee and chin, but she keeps getting back on. Time to stick her in a drawer as my father in law would say (so she'll quit growing up).

Pigskin

I watched my nephew's football game today. He made his team's only touchdown and some great tackles. Great job Jordan.
