We're back

We arrived home just a couple of hours ago. The trip was really fantastic. We weren't ready to come home, but are glad to be here. I have LOTS of photos to share, but it will take time to go through them all. Here are a couple from two of my morning outings.

It's back to the grind tomorrow. Angie and I have to work, the girls have school, Alex has a track meet, someone has softball practice, I need to mow the yard, yadda yadda yadda.

More later

Goin South

We'll be taking off for Florida in just a couple of days. We leave this Thursday afternoon, 4/19, and will return ten days later on Sunday 4/29. We are all excited about a long vacation. It's funny that we think 10 days is a long vacation. Really, 10 days isn't much. A month off would be a good start, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm really looking forward to visiting with my in-laws and our extended family from England. I'm also looking forward to a taste of summer weather, the smell of the ocean, lounging by the pool, and absolutely no thoughts of work.

Each time I go to Florida, I get up a couple of mornings while it's still dark and drive to the ocean to watch the sun rise. It's a different experience each time. The first time I went, there was a 10 foot wide ribbon of colorful seashells as far down the beach as I could see. Last time I went, I got hundreds of sand flea bites all over my legs. It's always one small part of the trip that I enjoy very much (except for the sand fleas) and something I'm looking forward to this time as well. Maybe I can get one, or all, of my girls to come with me on one of my morning excursions this time. I think they'd enjoy it too. I took this shot above on one of my morning excursions a few years ago.
If I don't talk to you before I get back, keep a cool tool & have a good time.
Peace-
Matt

Happy Easter

Wow, it's been a busy few days since I've returned from my fishing trip. I'm just now getting time to go through some of the photos I took down there. Here are a couple panoramas, a moonlit dock, the moon setting, and some of the sky reflected in the moving water.

The fishing, weather, food, and fellowship was all outstanding. It was a great trip.

Easter weekend was great too. We had the whole famn damily up to our house for dinner today. It was nice to see everyone again.

Have a great week.

Peace-
Matt
