Brilliant

Last week I worked around 60 hours, including Saturday and every weeknight.  Because of that, I took today off.  I couldn't have picked a better day.  It started off with a little light rain, which helped the sleeping in.  I then took the kids to school and went out for breakfast by myself.  While eating breakfast, the clouds broke up and the sun came out.  This created a ton of low lying fog.  I took advantage of it and went out shooting for a while.  I then went home and ate lunch with my wife and spent some quiet time with her.  I took a long walk on the trail and then smoked one of my favorite cigars ever.  It was a brilliant day.  We have Monday Night Football tonight to cap it all off.  Whatever I did to deserve a day like this, I hope I do it again.

Peace-
Matt

Slacker

Tonight, I finally got around to pulling photos off of memory cards from earlier this month.  The last day I took a picture was October 4th.  This is the best weather & color & light of the whole year and I've been slacking.  Geez.

Yesterday was Robby's 18th birthday.  Angie and I have been doing "what ifs" for the past few days.  Would Abby and Madeline even exist?  Would we be in Cambridge?  Would she be a nurse?  Life has many paths.  One leads to another that leads to another, infinity.  It's impossible to say how things would be if we'd chosen another path long ago.  After going through all of that with her and looking at where we are today, I'd say Robby's short life and death were a definite blessing in our lives.  Happy 18th son.

Peace-
Matt
