Congratulations Ashley!

I hate saying this, because I hate when everyone else says it, but we've just been so busy lately. I guess it's because ball has started (x3), school is winding down, and it's warm out. Lately, it always seems like we have a million things to do. There, I said it, now I'm done bitching about it.

The garden is coming along very nicely. I'm excited about the lettuce, the green beans, and the pumpkins. It should be a fun summer of gardening. (sounds like an old man doesn't it)

Alex and I played in the 28th Annual Miller Open (golf tournament) this past Sunday. It was Alex's very first time out golfing and my first time golfing for about 2 years. She did great and had fun. I golfed better than I think I ever have. Kind of makes me want to go do it again.

My niece, Ashley, graduated from high school this weekend. Congratulations Ashley!! I can always remember how old Ashley is, because she was born a couple of months after Angie and I got married. That's also how I remember how long we've been married. Tina and George had a great party for her, with a good turnout.

Softball is still in full swing. Both Abby and Alex had games tonight. It rained for a while before the games started, but then quit, so they all played. The rainbow shot above is from tonight before the games.

The last day of school is this Friday. The kids are looking forward to summer break. I hope they don't kill each other.

Have a great week.

Planting

This weekend was all about planting. We celebrated Mother's Day by planting some flowers at Grandma's and with Angie at home. The weather was fantastic and the weekend was perfect.

Have a good week.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mother's out there! I hope you feel especially appreciated tomorrow.

The garden is in. I got it planted yesterday and today. We'll have cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, lettuce, green beans, onions, and sunflowers. It's weird how I like to do it now. I never used to.

Again, Happy Mother's Day!!

Good Eye

I umped my first softball game last night. It's harder than it looks; especially keeping the count right and calling the corners. It's much more relaxing to sit in my lawn chair and watch from outside the fence.

What's with all the parents yelling "good eye" to their little softball star, when the pitches are five feet over their head or behind them? Is their self confidence really that bad, that they have to praise them for not swinging at pitches that are very obviously unhittable? (not a word, I know)

18th

Angie & I got married 18 years ago today. Happy Anniversary Baby!

I guess it's wedding season. I went to two wedding receptions this weekend, and we have more to come this summer.

We've been having spring rain and humidity this weekend. Alex asked me when the humidity would go away. I told her October.

I saw, for the first time this year, corn emerging from the ground in a few fields yesterday.

Here are more photos from Florida.

Strike Out

Abby pitched for the first time ever last night. She did very well. She got into a groove in the first inning and struck out two batters in a row. It was exciting. No, I didn't bring a camera.

Here are more Florida photos. Lots more to come.
