Back at it

Today is the Epiphany, when the three wise men finally made it to the manger to visit Jesus. They brought him gold, frankincense, and myrrh. If you google "frankincense, myrrh, cancer" you'll get a lot of hits. I'm not sure what's real and what's not, but wouldn't that be something...

I thought we might make it through this Christmas season with Madeline still in the believer camp. We almost made it. She heard something about five days before Christmas that ended that part of her life. I admit, I did grieve that news a little bit. Innocence lost is lost forever.

It's back to work and school for us all tomorrow. The dog will finally get his peace and quiet. I took my last daily nap today and I will miss that immensely.

Noel

Not sure what Noel means, but it sounds festive. Happy Noel everyone. I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. The holidays are fun and I love having the time off of work and with my family.

Seven

The leaves have changed and have fallen. Winter is on it's way. I'm hoping for a long, warm, dry fall, followed by a short, warm, dry winter. Lately though, it seems like the things I hope and pray for go the opposite direction. I'm starting to wonder if I'm wasting my time.

Seven more weeks until Christmas. Nineteen weeks until Spring.

Seis

Ava will be six months old on the 9th.  Time flies.  It's amazing having a baby in the house again.  I forgot how much this can pull a family together.  Things work out...

Vexed

The mosquitoes are thick. This is probably the worst we've had them since I've lived in Cambridge. That's saying something.

The colors are popping. I think they might be really good this year.  I'm not sure what the magic formula is, but I have a feeling it's got what it needs this fall.

Abby will be 18 in 3 hours. I hope she doesn't come home with a tattoo!

Angie will be 29 on Tuesday.  Next year will be her golden birthday, haha.

Plans

Wow, it's been a stretch since my last post.  As John Lennon said "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".  I want to do more shooting. In fact, I still carry my camera with me every day.  I see things, but I don't stop to take the time like I used to.  Makes me sad.  Time to turn that back around I guess.

Some photos above: first day of school, Ava is sitting up, Ava is brushing her first tooth (which is barely poking through), we've started on Abby's senior photos (one short outing so far), bacon is awesome (especially with fresh tomatoes and corn)

Hope to update very soon again.  I miss it.
